Architecture as a metaphor provided an opportunity to work with what I describe as psychological space. The forms allow me to use stairways, tunnels, passages gates and doorways that are open or closed to explore possible meanings. It facilitates the imagery of journeying, and here just as the old buildings have been changed over time the balcony could now be unsafe.
